a.k.a. hoarder of antlers
Born and raised in the Swan Valley, Luke (he/him) has developed deep roots and personal connections with the landscape. He has spent most of his life learning the land, people, and wildlife of the Swan, and studying its interconnected processes and relationships.
Luke attended the University of Montana, where he earned a B.S. in wildlife biology. In addition to serving as a wilderness ranger in the Mission Mountains Wilderness for 12 years, his career within the Swan Valley has entailed a wide spectrum of field biology projects that have focused on wildlife species such as grizzly bears, wolverines, and Canada lynx.
Luke oversees the development, fundraising, and implementation of all of SVC’s Conservation Programs. He also serves on the management committee for SVC’s Swan Legacy Forest and Elk Creek Conservation area.
Luke oversees all of SVC’s internal operations, such as providing leadership to develop a strategic vision and plan for maintaining and increasing the impact of the organization, creating organizational policies and procedures to facilitate effective and efficient operations, and managing the organization’s budget, long-term financial planning, and ensuring financial sustainability and accountability.
